Speaker Bio: Lori Myers is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S™) with 22 years of experience in treating children struggling with trauma and attachment disruptions. Lori received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. She has worked with a multitude of presenting issues and ages, including a therapeutic preschool setting, within the public school system, a rape crisis center, outpatient setting, and supervising therapists, interns, and staff working with sexual assault survivors and families. She provides training in the areas of child sexual assault, trauma, trauma informed care, brain development, attachment, and parenting. Lori offers supervision in the areas of play therapy and licensure for clinicians. Lori serves as an adjunct professor in University of Tennessee’s College of Social Work Master Program. Lori possesses specialized training in working with children, adolescents, and families, with trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, sand tray therapy, art therapy, play therapy, narrative therapy, attachment, self-regulation and competency framework, Dyadic developmental Psychotherapy, Theraplay ® activities, EMDR and is a trained facilitator of the Circle of Security-Parenting Program. Lori served on the leadership team of ACE Nashville and co-chaired the Trauma Informed Care Work Group for its initial 3.5 years. Tori Pitts is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 8 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families who have experienced trauma and attachment disruptions. Tori received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and her Masters of Science in Social Work with a certificate in trauma treatment from the University of Tennessee in Nashville. She has worked in multiple settings with individuals of varying ages and presenting issues, including a crisis line, psychiatric inpatient care, and an outpatient setting where she supervised clinical interns and provided therapy to children, adolescents, and families who had experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse and/or had witnessed a violent crime. Tori has received specialized training and utilizes the treatment modalities of trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, attachment, self-regulation and competency framework (ARC), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Theraplay ® activities, sand tray therapy, art therapy, play therapy, and is a trained facilitator Circle of Security-Parenting Program.
